Are you planning to supercharge or turbocharge your OZ?

i am going to turbocharge it, i know that you can put whatever size intercooler you want. i really want to know, do they make piping just for a lancer oz, or will the evolution piping from its intercooler kit work

EVO piping will not work on the OZ. Turbocharing the 4G94 is not simple. This engine was not design to handle too much boost. You'd be limited to 5-7 psi and will need intake, exhaust, turbo, and a tune if you're trying to pushing past 7 psi, you'd also need an intercooler, head studs and fuel pump. And if you're willing to spend the $4-6K for this work, you might as well spend $1K more and get cams and timing gears. For all this work and money and extra stress on you engine and drivetrain, you might get another 100 HP. And don't forget the clutch.

With the OZ, I would recommend sticking with cold air intake, headers, high flow cat, catback exhaust, and if they are well matched, this should get you around 30 HP. If you got to have more, try NOx, that's be the easiest way for you to get 50-100 HP. And once again, at this power level, the stock clutch isn't going to last more then a few runs.

If you're set on turbocharging your OZ, you might check out Road Race Engineering. They are a good shop and they do have kits for the OZ's 4G94 engine: http://www.roadracemotorsports.com/lancer.htm

Good luck with your mods.

You could also change your engine. Instead of spending 5 grand on all those parts and mods, you could spend half that and find a decent turbo or twin turbo engine that has an intercooler and all the parts you would need. A 4G63t engine would be great, but I dont know how it would fit. Thats what I want to do with mine, add that engine, but Im doing a lot of research to findout if it would actually fit. You could also think about an SR20 or the all mighty twin turbo RB26(R33) but that would take some serious modification, but it would be well worth it, i think. But take into thought that these engines are RWD and the OZ is FWD. So you would have to spend money on a new drivetrain, rear axel and all that jazz back there. Or, yes there are many options depending on your $, you could put an EVO engine in there, but then again thats AWD and you have FWD. That would be awsome, if you raced, people would have no idea...but youd have to have $.

Heres a web site you could use - http://www.jdm-online.com/
