well he also needs to know if it will fit on a D16A6 Block. its for a race car and his rules won't allow the 16 valve head :(

its actually against the forum rules... and the reason "nobody seems to care" is most likely beacuse everyone else is so sick of noobs not reading the rules and guidelines and breaking really simple rules until they get banned... im trying to help you out here so that your stay here is enjoyable and "flame free" But if you wish i can stop advising you and when you finally piss off enough members and get a temp ban and wonder why.. its because you havent read the rules.
FYI, rule# 4 in the forum guidelines refers to the posting in the classifieds and rule# 6 in the Global guidlines refers to the double/multiple posting rule..

ok, ok. I didn't know it was such a big deal. I actually thought I was posting in the classifieds if you really wanna know. I realized it after the fact but figured someone would want to get rid of one of these things cause everyones upgrading and I'm actually trying to downgrade.

its not a big now because everyone has been in a good mood lately.. but all its gunna take is a couple of members in a bad mood to see stuff like this and its starts a war... usualy ending up with both member being banned... i dont like seeing that... so im trying to help now while theres still time. and GL wih the sale...

c'mon tony...you've never tried the head swap? that sounds like something you would have tried for the fun of it when you worked at the wrecking yard!
rossiracing90, any luck sourcing a replacement from that jap. engine place?

Hahaha...I haven't dealt with the 8 and 12 valve heads, but I looked up some info and gave what little advise I could give him. He contacted me via PM before he opened these threads :)

No luck getting a head, but did tell me I could do what I am trying to do no problem. I have the engine in and all wired up. Got a little issue with the push button starter, but no biggie (it looked like it was wired by a 4 year old). I'm looking at another car tonight as well to run so if I can't get it straight for next thursday I can run the other one.

I wouldnt be against that.. hehe
As for the button starter... if this is a deticated race car i would just re wire it straight to the fuse box and the starter.. pretty straight forward and also look elsewhere for shotty wiring.. cuz if the previous owner hacked up something simple... i dont wanna see what else he tried, that way it saves you from some electrical fire at the track.

No need to run it through the fuse box, just run it direct to the starter. Mine is actually wired at the steering column, I just took the back of the ignition switch off and used the wires there. I don't know if he already has a battery cut off like most racers have, so if your worried about things shorting out because its not ran on a fuse, the cutoff will be there just in case, but I don't see it shorting out going directly to the starter.

I got the new motor in and holy ****, it roars. It was just a wiring issue with the push button so we're good to go there. I'm in the process of getting that 8 valve head restored so we'll see what's to come soon. I wanna run it like this...stupid rules.

OK, so check out what I did. Instead of putting on an 8 valve hf head and choking the shit out of the si motor I just took out 4 of the exhaust valves by cutting the rollers and rounding them off. They are still in place, but I just eliminated them. It worked perfectly. So now I have a 12 valve head that's in perfect condition. Everything adjusted perfectly and it's ready to race. Thanks everyone for your input. You all helped me out big time.

A bit ghetto for sure, but good luck trying to find a d series 12 valve head. They only made it for canadian cars from 88-91.
Still looking for a 12 valve for backup.
