they've made molson cold shots that are supposed to be easier to puncture but i found that a normal beer is actually easier. i've wondered the same thing, it wouldn't be that hard either. could be that it's much more expensive to manufacture. you'd have to put another 3 or 4 steps in the manufacturing process so it would make the cans more expensive, which would make the beer more expensive, and you usually don't shotgun expensive beer so they wouldn't sell as well or they wouldn't make as much profit.

ever notice all the beer ads end with "drink responsivly"? i think encouraging shotgunning would kind of defeat that campaign and bring the wrath of regulators and MADD on the beer makers if they tried it.
besides, shotgunning beer is a waste of time. sure you get them down fast but it's still only 3 to 7% alchol. you need to move on to boilermakers. i like PBR and Kesslers for my quick kick at happy hour.

But why couldn't, say, Keystone do this? If you're drinking Keystone you're not doing it responsibly. You don't drink one or two Keystones just to relax. You drink as many as your liver will allow you to before shutting down. If it's shitty beer, why not?

That concept seems to escape most people as seen here...

exactly, the legal problems that could be faced by the beer companies would be outrageous. Even though people drink Keystone to get f'ed up Keystone still has to say "Drink Responsibly" just to try and cover their butts. They damn well know what they are making the product to do. AFterall, i have yet to see Keystone be sold in anything less than a 30 pack here.

too many ER visits i think :dunno:

Just make a beer bong. Problem solved, both for the consumer and the legal department of each beermaker.

what is this "shotgunning" you speak of?

you have a can of beer. you puncture the bottom of the can and hold that part to your mouth. you then "pop the top" and the beer flows strong and fluidly right into your mouth.
its essentially a faster way to consumer your alcohol.

i use my keys when i do it because i always have them on me. now i also have a bottle opener on my key ring so they've become my all-useful drinking tool. i don't shotgun much, when i'm drinking really fast i usually have a cup and i just chug that, i find i can do it alot faster anyways.

you obviously haven't tried 10% Faxe. it's a vile concoction but it's cheap and strong.
besides, i'm not a huge fan of liquor, i like the taste of beer, and i like getting drunk. sure i'll do shots and i'll drink liquor and mixed drinks but i prefer beer. My fav liquor's gotta be rum, grew up on the stuff (stealing sips from my dad's daily rum and coke when he wasn't looking) so i can drink it straight from the bottle if needed (which it isn't anymore now that i'm legal).
anyways the marketing geniuses and lawyers could surely come up with some way to market it legally and in such a manner as to not piss off MADD... or at least keep them quiet.
edit: shit i meant to post that yesterday but forgot to click submit. just saw the window and got a bit of a "wtf" moment.

on another note if stores can get along with selling bongs for "tobacco uses" im pretty sure they could make a beer can with 2 pop tops "so you can pick which one you wanna open"

i'm sure they could come out with a legitimate product and make money off of it but there's probably a bunch of financial risk involved that nobody's ready to take on. it'd be an easy sell if they can market it properly but it could also be a complete flop. does anyone know how well cold shots are doing? i've only had them once and i don't know many people who actually drink them alot.

it would be a little different, since the can would have to come with the beer already in it. the bongs don't come with the weed, hence the reason head shops can say "they are to be used with tobacco smoking only"

he's just trying to say that if they can sell something that is obviously intended for one use, a bong, but get by by saying it's for another, they should be able to do it with this.

why would they even need to say that? we all know people drink cheap beer to get pissed. and people want to get pissed quickly.

i understand that, i just think it would be a little harder to get by with the beer since the beer is already in the can, where as with a bong, the Mary J is not with it. Just call it carbonated apple juice :D

if they run into any legal issues they could just say it's for easier consumption, the lack of vacuum helps it flow better, etc. i think it's just price that's stoped them, i've thought of this before and i'm sure many other people have as well so it's probably just not worth it to them.
