i really don't care about her going to jail. the thing that makes me mad though is that it seems like celebs don't face the same penalties that us peons face when we mess up.

if we all have the same rights, they got the same right to face the same amount of time in jail that i do if i get busted for DUI or whatever.

alas, i realize they are celebs and that i really shouldn't worry about them.

I would have to say that it comes down to having the money for a good laywer. That or if we want to commit crimes we need to do it in hollywood or LA. I hear their judges go really REALLY easy on you for no reason at all like you only get 3 weeks if you violate your probation!

P.S. I knew she was going to jail, but I still dont know why and I had to look up for how long. Just laugh at what I posted.

Well after only 3 full days in prison, she's out. She left because of an "unspecified medical problem" <insert guess at to what that could be and by whom here>. She is now on home confinement for 40 days with an ankle monitoring bracelet. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070607/ap_en_ot/paris_hilton

Her "medical problem" was an allergy to mold and germs that she claimed were in the prison. A team of specialists were sent in to test samples from the prison. Apparently there have been other complaints from inmates but nothing was done until little miss whore got thrown on d-block.

The prosecutor is pissed.

http://www.tmz.com/

The Los Angeles City Attorney has filed (http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_documents/0607_paris_02.pdf) a motion asking the judge who sentenced Paris Hilton to have her returned to jail to serve out her full sentence.

In the documents obtained by TMZ, City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo is also asking Judge Michael Sauer to hold a hearing, demanding that the Sheriff's Department show why it should not be held in contempt of court for violating Judge Sauer's May 4, 2007 order, which expressly stated "no electronic monitoring."

Late this afternoon, the judge granted the request for a hearing, which is now scheduled for 9:00 AM PDT Friday.

Its so amusing to watch this unfold this morning on large news stations..Is this that important right now that it has to take up the airwaves of so many stations? Is this really whats America cares about? If so this is so disturbing. I am unable to watch television with out this being shoved down my throat. There is so much more important news going on in the world. Celebrities are worthless and I am sick of hearing about there lives. This whole ordeal is going to only make Hiltons worthless career skyrocket. The same BS happen with Brittany Spears. She is an unfit mother and human, but still the media gives us more and more of her shitty life. I am most concerned with children. The media has no consideration for the youth of America and what role models they produce for them. :shakehead

Screaming Paris Hilton Sent Back to Jail

Screaming and crying, Paris Hilton was escorted out of a courtroom and back to jail Friday after a judge ruled that she must serve out her entire 45-day sentence behind bars rather than in her Hollywood Hills home.
"It's not right!" shouted the weeping Hilton, who violated her parole in a reckless driving case. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.
Hilton, who was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff's car, came into the courtroom disheveled and weeping, hair askew, sans makeup, wearing a gray fuzzy sweat shirt over slacks.
She cried throughout the hearing, her body shook constantly and she dabbed at her eyes. Several times she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, "I love you."
Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was calm but apparently irked by the morning's developments. He said he had left the courthouse Thursday night having signed an order for Hilton to appear for the hearing.
When he got in his car early Friday, he said, he heard a radio report that he had approved Hilton's participation in the hearing by telephone, but he had not.
"I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," he said of the decision to release Hilton from jail after three days.
"At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home on Kings Road," Sauer said.
Assistant City Attorney Dan F. Jeffries argued that Hilton should be returned to jail, and said that was purely the judge's decision to make. "Her release after only three days erodes confidence in the judicial system," Jeffries said.
Hilton's attorney, Richard Hutton, implored the judge to order a hearing in his chambers at which he would hear testimony about Hilton's medical condition before making a decision.
The judge did not respond to that suggestion.
Another of her attorneys, Steve Levine, said, "The sheriff has determined that because of her medical situation, this (jail) is a dangerous place for her."
"The court's role here is to let the Sheriff's Department run the jail," he said.
A former district attorney, Robert Philibosian, also represented Hilton. He said that the law supports the sheriff in making an independent decision on her custodial situation.
The judge interrupted several times to say that he had received a call last Wednesday from an undersheriff informing him that Hilton had a medical condition and that he would submit papers to the judge to consider. He said the papers never arrived.
Every few minutes, the judge would interrupt proceedings and state the time on the clock and note that the papers still had not arrived.
He also noted that he had heard that a private psychiatrist visited Hilton in jail and he wondered if that person played a role in deciding her medical needs.

I hear ya loud and clear. Watching the "NEWS" is hardly worth anything these days. All you get is garbage. I remember a quote from a move a long time ago about getting sex, drugs, and violence from tv shows and movies, even if you eliminate all that you still get it from the news!

Actually, it's kind of hard not to ignore it since it's broadcast wherever you are and whenever you try to watch the news. It's as if the media has made this story important above all others and feels that everybody else should be kept up to date.

taranaki
06-26-2007, 05:16 AM
The media sees it as important because it's a real easy story. Flash a few pictures of a black SUV shot from a helicopter, overlay it with a few soundbites of stuff that we already knew, the 'pretty blonde factor' is enough to put a face to the crime even if you don't actually see Paris Hilton in the news bulletin[library shots from her publicity portfolio don't count as news].

Bald reality time. Hundreds of prisoners across the country were released today after serving their terms for breach of parole. The media put this dizzy bitch on my screen, but other than that she's no different to any of the thousands of other cons who got released today. I'm pretty certain that many of those who were released today have learned more from their experience in jail, and just as many released today will pose more of a threat to the wider community. It doesn't matter how fabulously wealthy her family is, in terms of the offences that she committed and the treatment that she got, it happens thousands of times across America every year. And something that common simply isn't real news.
