96 Cutlass Ciera

I have a 96 Cutlass Ciera and at times the Gas Needle has a jumpy reading while driving, it might go to full to 3 quarters then back to full when its fueled to the point of being in between the two. Its actually too much of a difference in readings to determine how much gas you got if you ever get low. Being Hurricane Season here where I am, I thought it would be a good idea to get this problem fixed. I would assume the censor or the sending unit is acting up.

Sounds like the tank float unit is bad.
