Ford Escort vs. 02 Civic

Well if ya'll read my other thread about me losing to the BMW, this is the thread about me redeeming myself.
I was leaving work this time(about 8am). I come up on a bluepurple Ford Escort with a big wing, lowered, I/H/E, rims, and a huge Super Street decal covering the rear window.
We pull up to a red light. It is the perfect spot to race. We have a dead straight away for exactly 1 mile with no traffic. We start revving on each other and then the light turns green. Both of us take of. Neither one of us spins the wheels off the start, but I quickly pull on him. When I shift to second, the tires spin a little bit and quickly I put 2, then 3 cars on him. By the time I'm to 4th gear I have a considerable 6 cars lead on him and he slowed down to give up the chase.
That felt good to win after losing to that BMW.

wait you raced a bmw and lost then raced a escort and won.... how is that redeeming yourself. I doubt those two cars were equally matched.

he also beat the bmw the second time, neather car would reach 100+ in a quarter and he had him up till then, so he won.
And he won a race with a moded car, thats a kill worth redeming himself. If he was in a ZR1, Cobra R, R33, VR4...etc...then this wouldnt be worth mentioning but for his civic, and how long hes had it its a great kill.
On a side note, some of us dont make enough for any of the forementioned cars, so a civic killing a BMW is damn cool

Well TV, thinks that I beat him the second time........and it's true. I was winning until my car topped out.
So i'll let the jury decide on that one.
But, I'm always happy to win a race, no matter who it's with. I was guessing that an Escort was more on the same level as a civic. I guess, it's a lot slower. I don't know what it runs under the hood.

ok, I don't get the infatuation with Escorts and modification. how the hell do they even find parts for their shit?!? Once again, it's like modifying a Camry, except the engines shitty as hell. I just dont get it. Thank gawd we dont have any of those idiots around here. We have one, actually. They put a V-TEC emblem and a honda racing emblem on it. If you're that desperate for a Honda, burn that escort, get the insurance money and buy an '89 Accord.
