hi
we have just finished rebuilding my drag car, alfa mr2

all is good except, that the car is massively overfueling on idle,

i have been over everything completely time and time again,

one problem is i have a completely aftermarket engine loom that spl built for my car, when it was in japan , so no colours correspond too diagrams, fuel pressure is fine at 3 bar on idle, injectors are working properly,

i have a reworked stock ecu by spl
and also from that a piggy backed hks f con v-pro

a mistake was made when an earth was accidently connected to a live on the alternator and it blew the 7.5 amp ecu ignition fuse in the engine bay fuse box( not good)) hmmm:shakehead

i think that the ecu's have been backfed

i have changed the typical sensors and all seems fine now except for the overfuelling anyone know of anyway of clearing this,or anythng that may make this happen.:banghead:

its probably something stupid,

short of no luck here, im going to send the ecu's first off to a specialist to check the curcuit boards, and thento a hks pro writer garage to have the ecu looked at and see if the map still in there, the car was off the road for a fair while about 6 monthes, but all i have spoke to said the hks ecu will still have its map in it as e-prom ecus very reliable ..

please help totb is looming and its about time the car made a point in the uk?????

what engine are you running? with the amount of custom stuff you have goin on... it could be any number of problems. I would start by making sure the injectors flow the correct amount of fuel.

hi yeah thanks for the help, erm im running a custom engine that was commissioned by three companys , spl , jun, and speed house alfa,

it was typically designed for drag , spec is quite comprehensive , and a custom made block for all the internals to go into, plus sleeved .

hence its power output 754bhp , that was the old spec so its just going to dyno soon now it has new spec should be good, and everyones is sure of more,

i had checked all the injectors etc,, i finally found out what the problem was fuel vapour has killed the throttle position sensor and was basically on wide open throttle , so ecu was fuelling accordingly,

nice to meet you the names adam , drop me a mail at addmr2@hotmail.com
or send add me to yourt msn!!
