sorry if this is alrdy been posted but i couldnt find anything so w/e ill jsut say it
im a new modeler and im looking for some nice kits and parts i found that mediamix hobby and hiroboy are very good sites but i live in california and shipping would cost easily over 50$ and i dont think i would wanna pay that much for shipping. so does anybody know of any good websites where i can find some good stuff? ive already ordered 2 kits from ehobies.com and shipping was only 7$ but they sell paints and kits and stuff but not a big selection of detail parts like hiroboys or mediamix. so if anybody knows of a good site i can order from that has a good selection of items and pretty close to california so shipping wont be so much please tell me.
thanks for reading

Well there's Kevin at Stradasport somewhere there, he have a good selection of Nascar stuff as well as detail parts and resin kits. Don't know if David at Scaleracecars is ever in business, he had a huge amount of any stuff in catalogue, just try to see the site.

$50 on shipping??!! What are you trying to order?
California is not such an exotic or remote place that you will pay any more for shipping than anyone else. Be glad you live in the US- on international shipping you pay no import taxes.
If you want easily available regular production kits (Tamiya, Revell, etc), you can often find them at domestic hobby sites- ehobbies, hobbylinc, tower hobbies, etc. If you want anything more exotic (Hasegawa, Fujimi, any detailing supplies, etc.), you'll have to order it wherever you can find it- and usually that will mean internationally. Get over it- everyone who wants this stuff orders it internationally. Many places you order from (but not the UK!) will save you money due to exchange rates- which means that even with shipping it will cost close to what it would cost if you found it on the shelf of your LHS.
Nothing is going to be close to you, and even if it were, it's proximity wouldn't save you any money. Postage rates don't work like that (find something too close to you and you'll pay state sales tax.) If you can find what you want domestically from a place you trust, order it. Shipping may be lower, but the shelf price may be higher. If not, suck it up and order from a foreign supplier that has a good reputation. Nobody else would order from these places if shipping was eating them alive, so it likely won't kill you either. But you've probably already discovered that much of the stuff on MediaMix and Hiroboy can't easily be found elsewhere.

I have never ordered full kits from Hiroboy or Mediamix, but I have never seen such a large cost for shipping.
Stradasports is in the suburban St. Louis Missouri area if you want ot try them. Go to http://www.stradasports.com/ (http://www.stradasports.com/) and look them over.
