After the Valancia RC211V, I am kind of heated up with Motos.
Before I am doing the Batman RC211V, i will first do a couple of less-special kits first. The this time, the Desmosedici.
I am trying the Finisher paints this time, namely Foundation pink and Bright Red.
First #1200 surfacer and then white primer.
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070529_1.jpg
Foundation pink in action.
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070529_2.jpg
And then the Bright Red.
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070529_3.jpg
You may like to see a comparision of my latest 1:24 kit, F430 too. It doesnot carry the foundation pink but a layer of white paint instead. This comparision test can demostrate the purpose of the Foundation pink.
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070529_4.jpg
The finisher paint, but itself, is kind of thick paint. I have to thin it a little more than like i am doing on Gunze paint.
the glossy is good and the covering power is strong, espcially usefulu in red colors.
after the painting work, it comes to decals.
Here I have tried Crazy modeler's Marlboro doecal. But it turns out the white portion is not covering the red paint very well.

http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070530_2.jpg
So I have remove the bigger one....
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070531_1.jpg
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070531_2.jpg
And prepare for another sheet that is from Tabu.
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070602_1.jpg
The Tabu decals are very thinner yet strong. I am doing is very carfully and fortunate enough, they are not messed up. and the white portion is much much better than Crazy Modeler's one.
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070602_2.jpg
Then is come to some Carbon work.
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070602_3.jpg
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070602_4.jpg
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070602_5.jpg
This will be a fast build, Stay tuned.

Apart from the testing of Foundation Pink, I have also get a handy of Finisher GP2 as well.
It took me some months to figure out a test plan.
Fortunately, some of my friends have tried it before and their suggestions and comment are really a very good help on me~
I have to mix the solutions in caution as a wrong weighting would result in a disabling on all solutions.....
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070603_1.jpg
The paint is looking good and it texture is much different with Gunze clear coats.
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070603_2.jpg
Afterall, I have put aside the body parts and wait for them to dry.
So I started working on the chassis.
The engine painted in SM06 and before a black wash:

And after a black wash:
http://panzer.hkbh.net/diary/20070603_4.jpg
A few hours later, I can wait to test-fit the hope thing up~~haha~~

How much thinner do you use with the GP2?

I'm very interested too on the mix ratios for the Finishers clear system as I'm yet to try it. Please tell us more about your friends' advice. The clear looks really good on top of your very nicely laid paint job. Decal work looks really well done as well.

thanks all bros~~~
i am glad to have your feedbacks so soon~
for the GP2 issue, my friends have actually examine the instructure, which is in Japanese. and as we finally come up with the solution, the paint should mix with the hardener and thinner in proportion to the volumn of the bottle.
as the paint is 80ml, hardener 40ml and thinner 50ml, the scale is about 2:1:1.sth
so i just mix the paint and hardener in 2:1, and then another 1 for thinner and added a few more drops.
this is my way to have the clear coat mixed.
but of course, this is the first time i am using the GP2. so i guess other expereinced modelers would have a better idea, especially those from japan, who can clearly understand the instruction~~LOL~~~
