how to lower my eclipse

I know nothing about suspension which is why i am asking this question.


i own a 1996 mitsu. gs spyder eclipse 2.4 L fwd. and I am wondering... HOW DO I LOWER IT>?! can anyone point me in the right and cheap direction please...

the cheaper way to do it is buy some lowing springs of ebay.
direct replacement of old springs...like

Dude I would just do it the right way and buy some Eibach lowering springs instead of cheap ebay ones...

Yeah, dont listen to that guy those cheap ass springs arent worth their weight in dog shit. Get eibach springs and match them with KYB AGX shocks or Tokico Illuminas. Eibach makes the Sportlines (~2" drop) and Pro Kits (~1" drop) and I believe they are the same spring rates just different drops. That combo should run you like $600 I think, but I cant remember. If you have a bit more dime to drop, you can get the same shocks with a certain brand of sleeve type coilovers that use Eibach springs. I cant for the life of me remember the name of them, but they are the only decent sleeve type coilovers. Those are great because you can get what spring rates you want. That combo should run you more like $750. If you have even more to drop on it, you can get some Megan coilovers, they are decent and not too much, I think like $900.

I say the best bang for your buck would be to go with a Eibach spring. If you want to drop it a little go with the Eibach Pro kit but if you want to slam it like mine go with the eibach sportline kit. I've got the same car you do and I have Eibach Sprotline Springs with KYB GR2 shocks. The ride quality in my opinion is awesome. Not bouncy at all and it handles good. With the Sportline springs though you might have some ground clearance problems. The only thing you need to install your spring/shocks is a spring compressor and hand tools and jack/ jack stands. Get an alignment on your car afterwards or else your tires won't last a month.

Yup, Ground Control is what I was thinking of.

I ran Ground Control's on the GSX, they did use Eibach standard diamter race springs. Those coil overs are still on that car, going on about 5 years now...
