totally pointless and not really worthy of a thread but just now, I made a 58 Mile journey with an average speed, according to my in-car system, of 62MPH.
Everything was perfect.
Lights were all in my favour in the city, light traffic and whenever there was a car in front, they pulled in in good time and perhaps most importantly, no one was dawdling on the outside lanes.

The trip was made all the better for the lovely setting Sun.

I guess this opens up a little question:

what was the best drive you've ever had and why?

Best drive I've had was probably the first time a girl called me and said she wanted some attention... wasn't a long drive but man did I fly.

Just like Golden Earings song Radar love... "my baby called and said I need you here... it's a half past four and I'm shifting gears..."

Best drive ever...

Did you play the song as you drove to give her some attention? I did that once, made the drive even more fun:grinyes:

Nope, she was at home... I had to drive to her place. At the time, I was driving a company van that was about 1000 years old and didn't like going fast. Not to mention I was in rush hour traffic and the 'check engine light' kept coming on from me driving it hard...

Oh well... it was worth it in the end. :)

Reminds me of the second time I saw my wife. I was hanging out with a friend of mine about 20 miles away and she said to "come on" and I was on my way. Single lanes the whole way but there was one long stretch where I hit about 120mph in the 944. It's just something you don't forget... haha...

Best trip or trips in my case, was travelling back and forth between Utah and where I live now. Nothing but open roads, no stopping (except for gas/bathroom breaks), and the nice breezy freeway air. Lovely....

I took a trip a couple of years ago that I really enjoyed. I'm hoping that I can replicate it again this summer. I live about 2 hours away from Yellow Stone and the best trip I've had was a trip up there in a convertible. Top down, loud tunes, wind everywhere. Man I'm excited to go through that park again. I've got my new digital camera to take too!

Best drive i ever made, in hindsight also the most pointless was to philadelphia from champaign illinois, 1500 miles round trip, 12 hours non stop except to buy gasoline, sobe and take a piss. I was in my 89 Buick that had lost it's abs capabilities going through the mountain passes at 90mph up and down hill. It was the most relaxed i've ever been and the most interesting trip.

Ahh... I remember that. Lots of drama involved. Good times.

Ok maybe not good times, but interesting to say the least.
