1998 ZX2 issues. HELP PLEASE

I raced a 1998 ford escort ZX2 for 3 weeks when the engine blew. Me and my dad replaced it with a used motor, and all sensors appear to be in place, but the car won't fire. There is no injector pulse... could we possibly need a new computer to adapt to the second engine?
