So, here's the deal, i love country music, can't get enough of it. but being in England it doesn't really exist here.

so i was wondering if you guys could help me out, reccomend some good artists/songs/albums. if you've got a favourite song, post it, same for albums and artists.

my favourite of the moment is Joe Nichols - Brokenheartsville. i've got a couple of his songs and i'm going to get some of his albums.

Thanks guys,
Moose.

I don't think so. We're going to cruise in the maro and rock out to some Rise Against or Bullet For My Valentine. You can keep that country stuff in your truck.

Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, Faith Hill,Taylor Swift, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, are some females who are popular now. On the male side, I'd say Tim McGraw, Lonestar, Alan Jackson,Toby Keith, Brad Paisley,Kenny Chesney, Trace Adkins.
Some other groups include Sugarland, Dixie Chicks, Alabama,Montgomery Gentry. That should get you started.

Not a fan of country anymore. It's gone down hill imo.

Can't go wrong with 'ol George Strait.

Check out a guy by the name of Adam Hood. Barely known by anyone, as he's just a small bar independent artist. http://www.adamhood.com/

I went to a bar to see him play. Keep in mind I'm not a fan of country, but within the first 5 seconds of the first song he played I was all ears the whole night.

No.

Country = original awesome.

i'm listening to funny and up-beat stuff. it's real feel-good music. maybe if it's nice out tomorrow i'll go sit out on the heath with my CD player and speakers and just listen to some country in the sun.

My favorite country song: Alan Jackson - Chattahoochee, from the album : A lot about livin (a little bout love)

EDIT: If you like funny up-beat country I seriously recommended the above song. Hell how much funnier does it get then this "Way down yonder on the chattahoochee, it gets hotter than a hoochie coochie"

Try any Dierks Bentley album.

second on the Dierks.

look into Alan Jackson, Toby Kieth, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Garth Brooks, Big & Rich, Brooks & Dunn, Rodney Atkins. I don't know what all you like, but one I really like, and yes you all can clown on me for it, is Carrie Underwood. Its good Country music.

You do know he old saying about playing a country song backwards, don't you?
Well,1)you get your job back, 2) you quit drinkin' 3) your wife comes back to you and stops cheatin', and 4) your dog comes back to life, and 5) your truck gets fixed:grinyes:

I won't clown on you for liking Carrie Underwood. I have liked all her songs that have been released on radio. I have been thinking about picking up her album.

Forgot about Rodney Atkins, love his cd.

I gotta agree with '97ventureowner, there's a lot of good [country] music out there now...I couldn't say that a few years ago. I'm into some slightly older stuff like Garth, Clay Walker, Tracy Lawrence. But also a fan of newer stuff as well...Eric Church, Jason Aldean has an awesome ability, Jamey Johnson...if you haven't heard of him, you should look him up!!. Miranda Lambert is great as is Sara Evans<<wish i could marry her:)

you're right....there are some great bands from the 80's and early 90's that often get overlooked. Little Texas, Confederate Railroad, Shenandoah, Ricochet, Restless Heart, etc had quite a following back then and even now for some of them. Between that [period] and todays country there is a world of difference....some for better, some for the worse. Seems like today is leaning way toward "pop" country which I define as "fun, or not so meaningful" Whereas the country music of years past really seemed IMO to have more meaning in life. They were songs that mattered. I'm not saying that there aren't songs like that today (there are!) but there are a lot of songs today that are fun, but in the span of time don't carry as much meaning. Just my 2 cents
