I'm tryna get grounded

So I got this HID Kit and one of the ballasts isnt grounded well inside the casing. When I turn it on you can feel the arc passing through it so the power isn't making it to the bulb. You can see it attempting to light but it just stalls like a car with a bad starter and fizzles out.

So I first attempted to ground it by wrapping it in electrical tape to protect it from the metal hoster on the car. More power made it to the bulb but still not enough for full light. It was wrapped up pretty good

So I opened it up to try and find the source and saw a plastic panel behind the board and the heat from the short burnt a hole through it and there was a scorch mark also

On the other side is this

I even put some electrical tape on the inside panel behind the board for the hell of it

Still not enough to keep the power in. Anybody with any helpful suggestions is appreciated. I figure I'd check here before I buck up and get another ballast... again :disappoin

have you talked to them? don't take no as an answer. tell them the thing's faulty, and it's a manufacturing problem.

don't tell them you took it apart and looked inside. if you do, they'll blame you for the problem and you'll be stuck with it.

I sent the typical "my stuff's broke, what you gonna do about it" email and he says to see if its the system in need of a relay (which I haven't needed in 4 years of having HIDs) or $30 gets me a new ballast. Now I'm gearing up for my "i tried your solutions and they didnt work so your stuff really is broke" email

In the mean time, I got the working half of my old kit in the car in hopes that the two can coexist until I graduate

Dayum. that stuff's pricey.

when i get my truck i'm putting 8 spot/driving/fog lights on.

that's like 1,040w of auxilary lighting. i'll blind everything 5 miles in front of me and will be seen from outerspace.
