CRV Question

OK heres the deal... 89 Hatchback, previously running a B18A1, well it was smoking a little and i got a screamin deal on a CRV motor ($350 and VERY clean), so i did the swap last weekend and everything went smothly EXCEPT that when i went to hook up the fan control switch on the back of the block i discovered that the CRV didn't have the hole in the block drilled and tapped for the sensor. I'm assuming that the CRV uses the temp sensor on the head to control the fan. I'm still using the OBD0 PM4 out of the original integra swap. does anyone have any suggestions about where to place an aftermarket fan switch or suggestions about which switches are worth a shit? Right now i have the switch jumpered so that the fan runs whenever the car is on and it works but it's gay... the rest of the swap is really clean and i don't want that dirtying it up... Any help will be appreciated, i'll post pics when i get a chance.

In 1992 Honda took a look at that big two prong switch on the back of the block and said it was just too ugly and that they could do better than that. So when OBD1 came around they said to themselves "Hey it would look much cooler if we stuck it in the water neck for the lower radiator hose." So they worked day and night and came up with this miniaturized version of the switch that still uses the same wire colors but now uses a two prong connector instead of two one prong connectors. The moral of the story kids is if you've got an OBD1 block but a pre-OBD ECU then you need to swap water necks and cut and splice the wiring. By the way the ECU is also capable of turning on the radiator fan but in some instances Honda discovered it wouldn't so they put the switch in as a back up.

To the OP, I know it's "gay" having jumped the fan to work but as Mr.WrongsAlive stated the ECU should turn it on. In my car, I believe there was a missing wire coming from the fan circuit relay or the switch didn't work. Either way, I ground the fan motor directly to the chassis and it worked when the key was in the on position. No extra wires or nothing. When I got the car the wiring was a mess but I'd say it looked pretty damn good when I got rid of it.
