'94 CPI Blazer Won't Start, NEED HELP!

Engine is a 4.3L in a '94 S-10 Blazer . It's got the spider injector setup, Central Port Injection is what I think they called it. I put fresh heads on it about 2000 miles ago after my temp sender failed and I cooked it when a radiator hose let go. It had been running fine, a bit rich and blubbery at light throttle/cruise but had great power. One day when I was driving it, it just died. I kicked into neutral and it fired off and ran about another 5 seconds or so and that's it. Fuel pressure checked at 62psi. I found fuel in the lower part of the intake so I replaced the fuel pressure regulator with no change. Timing looks fine, TDC gets the rotor pointing at #1. After I cranked on it awhile, I could smell gas and ended up with about a quart in the pan. Oil has since been changed. I replaced the coolant temp sensor in the intake since that's a common problem. We finally scanned it yesterday and there were only 2 things that really stuck out: after cranking on it awhile and letting the key go back to "RUN" position, it still shows a base pulse at 5.4 and shows rpm's at 175 - 225 rpm's, even though the engine isn't running. We actually managed to get it running a couple of times yesterday by holding the throttle open to give it some air. It was running pig rich and what sounded like the IAC motor sounded like it was working overtime. Module in the distributor has been replaced but when we took the old one to O'Reilly's, they checked it and said it was fine. It had also had a code for the knock sensor but the connector had come loose, I reconnected it with no change.
Any ideas? I have it sold if I can just get it running, then I can work on my '77 K-5 and the 406 for it. Where could the computer/sensors pick up that the engine is revving when it's not?

Check fuel pressure and watch for a fast leak down.

I can hear it ticking inside the intake after the switch is released when we try to start it, we assumed it had something to do with the base pulse, still firing the injector even though it's not trying to start. When we swapped the regulator, it bled down but relatively slowly, took a few minutes to get down to 50 or so.

If the dist module is good have a look at the PCM.
Give it the old tap or twist test.

Was a battery charger connected when you retrieved this info? The half wave DC from a battery charger makes kooky electricity.
Sounds like the supply and or return fuel lines inside the intake manifold might be leaking. With the rubber air inlet to the intake removed and throttle open, do you smell raw gasoline?

I am going to repost this here from the other thread:

Hey, Have you looked in the "how to" section of this forum there is a 92-95 CFI section:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=462726 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=462726)

There is a lot of good info about this particular subject.

Here is a link to an aftermarket supplier of CPI components:

Good luck,
