Civic vs. Malibu

well i don't really have a story but i do have a question
one of my friend dives a Malibu 2.2(engine) and he doesn't have any mods to his car and i drive a 98 Civic w/ exhaust, intake but my engine is smaller but he wants to race me and i duno who would win ?? wat do u guys think ?? any chance of winning? i also have 18" rims which makes my car heavier....once we got on red but then the road merges from the side we still raced and when it turns green we both hit the gas and he actually get's ahead of me but i'm right on his back bumper i think i could've caught up w/ him if the road was longer....so do u guys think is it worth racing him?? Oh yeah, and we both have automatic transmissions....which is the only thing i hate about my car i wish i had a stick shift

what trim model is your car?
the malibu is a boat anchor
you should be able to beat it even with an auto if you have an EX

i have a DX.. and the Malibu is a 4 door and it's also and auto....

I agree with 94svt5.0. Just do the race. It sounds like the cars are a close match, so it will probably come down to the drivers.

I just raced my friends Malibu its a stock and i drive a 2000 civic HX no mods... I beat him in the launch then had 3 cars on him then he starts pulling when he got to my rear bumper i breaked... So im sure you can take him he was in a auto i got stick btw so just learn to launch that auto and you will have him they do pull though...

No, i havent' raced him yet b/c the day i was suppose to race him it started to rain so we cancelled, but we will be racing soon i actually got him on red once again on the same road where the road merges from two lanes into one lane so he pulled up on me but i was on him back bumper i hade to brake a lil or i would've hit him when i merged into his lane but his car launches a lil faster than mines...i guess cuz it's a 2.2 that's y....but i will be racing him soon...and let ya know the updates

YES you can take a Malibu. Sweet Jesus yes. Those cars are not built to be run like that. Their boats. You can race him and you can definately win, EX or not.
