I CHANGED MY TRANSMISSION YESTERDAY. MY OLD TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT AT ALL. A FRIEND OF MINE GAVE ME HIS TRANSMISSION BECAUSE HIS CAR GOT INTO A WRECK AND HIS TRANSMISSION WAS BROKEN FROM OUTSIDE. I SWITCHED JUST COVERS.. A LOT OF WORK.... LOTS....LOTS... MANY PARTS TO SWITCH... BUT I DID IT.... PROBLEM IS ........ I ENDED UP WITH A SMALL METAL BALL..... I DONT KNOW WERE IT GOES...... I PUT TRANSMISSION BACK AND CAR DOES WORK BUT FOR JUST A BIT..... IT SHIFTS FROM REV. TO DRIVE.... THEN WITHIN MINUTES IT JUST STOPS WORKING...... NO MOVEMENTS AT ALL.....WHAT FUNCTION MIGHT THIS SMALL METAL BALL HAVE THAT MY TRANSMISSION STOPS WORKING...... SEEMS THAT OIL PRESSURE STOPS...... DOES SOMEONE HAVE A DIAGRAM FOR A 94 TRANSMISSION OR WHERE CAN I GET ONE THOUGH THE INTERNET.....:banghead:

Is this an automatic transmission?

Sound like you left out a valve body check ball. If it is than I don't know what passage was that check ball is suppose to be at and what kind of damage you have done to the trasmission inturnally. You will need a manual for the transmission disassemble and re-assemble direction.

You will need to take the transmission side cover off (where the valve body is at) and put that check ball where it belongs and cross your fingers and hope it will work when you have it back together.

If any of the check ball fell and hit the ground you will need to replace them (I suggest you replace them anyway, cause you don't want to find out you need to replace them after you put it all back together), cause the check ball will no longer seal the passage after it's been drop.

Tip: use vaseline to hold the check balls in place while you put the spacer plate on.

Goodluck.
