They dont. ANd stay far far away from OBX. Their quality is junk.

I can't testify on any other products for OBX, but I can assure you every1 i've ever met with the OBX headers says the same thing, it was a compete waste of money, i should've gotten the 3sx ones.

I have never used anything OBX, but I hear that they have terrible quality from my friends who have.

I'd spend my money elsewhere, honestly. For an NA motor that's stock with basic, non-internal upgrades (intake, exhaust, etc), headers will net you close to no power gains, for all practical purposes. They will certainly help beef up your exhaust note, but the same money spend on a decent exhaust will do the same thing. I had a custom cat-back with dual chrome tips mendrel bent, $400 out the door, and it sounds really sweet. Oh, and unless you plan to install the headers yourself, youre looking at some pretty heavy labor costs too.

well i dont know about mr3000 but i have port and polished heads.. intake borla cat back, the obx headers, msd ingintion upgrades and etc..made a difference for me..i agree if nothing else its a nice sound upgrade..

yea, i had heard in the past that theres not much difference in flow between stock manifolds and aftermarket headers....im wanting to get them mainly for sound deepness; i plan to run aftermarket headers, hi-flow cat, 2.5in pipe allway through and dual flowmaster 40 series mufflers.......i want it to sound like its got alot of balls!

would an aftermarket downpipe be best to get, or should i go full headers?

well obviously downpipe would be much easier to install then headers..i had to add extra bungs and customize a few things to make fit..downpipe is just like 6 bolts off bolts up and its done! so if your lookin for an easier job then go with downpipe but headers is the true way to go..in my opinion

would the downpipe make the tone deeper?

^ A downpipe would give it a throatier sound. Also try removing your resonator, it gives the intake a nice deep sound under acceleration.

If sound is the only thing youre going for, then I guess go ahead and give it a shot. The 3sx headers are more expensive than the OBX ones, but you have to see what its worth to you, since they will be a PITA to install. Personally, I would get a nice exhaust system (because with the headers, you'll only marginally notice the difference in sound quality if you're already running an aggressive exhaust setup, so the added cost might not make sense).

Also, when you get an exhaust system made, try to have the maximum possible text pipe length after your muffler (if you plan to run a muffler at all, that is). That is how a lot of these Mustangs and Firebirds and some trucks emit that "rumbling" and deep "gurgling" sound, because they have much longer test pipe's post-cat and post-muffler than most other vehicles. I have a large Magnaflow muffler mounted about midway undearneath, and have much longer pipes coming out the end, the car sounds pretty sweet. I'll post a pic of the underbody later so you can see where the muffler was mounted.

ok thanks for the info, im thinking about just getting a downpipe instead of headers.

how do you think 2 flowmaster 40 series mufflers would sound with a hi-flow cat?

No point for two. Just get a single in dual out and have it placed where teh premuffler is. Theres not much room on the passenger side for anything more than a canister style muffler.
