1999 Ford F150 Emergency Flasher Relay

My signal lights and Emergency Flashers just quit working all of a sudden. I went to the part store to purchase a new flasher. While I did buy one, installing has become a problem. I have searched and searched but cannot find the location of the relay. I even called the local Ford Dealership and a member from the service department said it was located under the dash right about where the transmission is located (floor shift) under a black box. I have looked extensively but with no success. My owner's manual does not show a location. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. Everything else works fine. I have brake lights, tail lights, and no burned fuses.:)

If you cant find it in the trunk, look just to the right of the steering column, under the instrument panel.

The comment on the trunk was posted by a friend of mine that introduced me to the forum. Thanks a bunch for directing me to the proper location. I did find it and replace it but that was not the fix. It appears that tilting my steering wheel stops my signal lights and flashers from working. If the steering column is tilted all the way up, they work. Any other position causes them not to work. Thanks again for the help.
