I am not sure what the plate laws are in NZ but here in the US you can put anything on the front that you want. So, you could get a mock-euro plate and slap it on the front. it would be pretty useless around back.

Not true for all states unfortunately. Hawaii requires the same plate on front and rear. I think Ohio did, but I dont know if they still do.

New Jersey is the same way. I saw something like this before, but it said 3M-TA3 which would read EAT-ME in a mirror.

I too know that the laws on whether the front plate is required or not vary from state to state. CT is one where now they want you to use both front and back license plates, but that this law is seldom enforced (my Teg carries a rear plate only, and I've never had any problem, neither has the work vehicle I use that also only has a rear plate). But, I don't know if a false plate on the front of that nature could present a problem in the eyes of law enforcement personnel.
