2000 CVPI wiper motor question

Hi All, just bought this one and I find that the wipers intermittently fail to immediately engage and start working. I removed the multifunction switch and cleaned all the connections and sometimes when I turn on the wipers I need to wait about 30 seconds for them to actually come on. Once on, they work fine. I assume this is the motor itself but figured I'd check before I grab one at a bone yard. Thank you

Hey Partner I Also Own A 2,000 Cvpi,,and A Little After 2 Yrs Ago We Had A Light Freeze Here And Texas And The Wipers Statred Failing Somthing Like Your Discribing..but Insted Mine Dont Stop Completly..they Stay Half Way.we Dont Really Get That Mutch Of Rain In This Part Of Texas So Its No Big Deal..but If You Do Have That Problem Use Rain X

Have you ever run into anything like this W2O? Possible voltage issue maybe?

well No I Have Not Checked Into That But I Suspect They Just Need Some Wd-40 Or Grease On Em''but Since Boston's Kev 2000 Cvpi Has The Same Prob As My 2,000 Cvpi I Think It Must Be Some Factory Defect..

Hey Kev. Check the wiper delay module also. If it is hesitating before start up could be the module. To be sure, check for voltage at the motor. Should have voltage as soon as it is turned on. Good to hear from you again.
JoeTex--If the wipers stop in the upright position, the park circuit os out of the motor. Easiest fix is to replace motor.

I'll probably just toss a new motor in as it doesn't look like a huge project. It just kills me that sometimes it works perfectly and other times when you turn the wipers on you have to wait about 25 seconds for them to come on and then they work fine. Oh well.

Hey Kev. Ford has a TSB on the wiper motor for intermittent operation or turning themselves on. So the motor and pigtail may cure your problem.
