94 Regal brake light problem

My rear brake lights have quit working. The center light over the rear seat still works properly when the brakes are applied. Sometimes when you jiggle the turn signal lever, the brake lights will come on (if the brake petal is pushed down, of course). I guess I will have to pull the steering wheel and replace the turn signal switch, but I'd like someone with more experience than I have to verify this. The switch is about 50 bucks, and I have replaced my share of good parts:) Thanks!
