Alright, I have a '96 Se. I hate the gap between the wheel well and the tire. so, naturally I thought about lowering using springs and shocks. Problem with that is I like the smooth maxima ride for long trips and the such. can anyone give me spring/shock combo that might reduce the gap and still have a somewhat smooth ride. Also, if I do lower my car, and I decide I dont like the result can I just switch back to the stock and it will be like it was before the switch. Thanks for any input.

For a near stock ride you should go with H&R springs and a choice of either of these:
Tokico Blue sturts and shocks.
or
KYB GR2 struts and shocks.
Do not use your original struts and shocks when you lower your car. It will not handle correctly.

That you for your advise. It'll help me alot. but if I lower my car and I dont like the result, can I switch back to stock and expect it to be like it is now.

I have a 94 gle that is in need of shocks and struts badly.
I would like to autocross the car in the near future so I'm looking for some good stuff. I was looking at Tein but they are a little expensive.

Absolutely, but keep the new struts and shocks, just sell the lowering springs. With new aftermarket struts and shocks, your car will ride much better when it's back on the original springs.
