Sounds like my dad when I put on the intake. "Put it back to stock, the cone doesent block dust as efficently"
I havent, and he hasnt pushed the issue so its all good.
I kinda want to get some neuspeeds, my parts car is on a 2" drop and looked sweet before the guy crashed it (it isnt my car, I just go and buy shit off it all the time)

Well if you keep the springs on there than your goin to need to get a camber kit, struts and a alignment. If you don't have the money for all these things than don't lower until you do. The camber wear will kill the tires and in a few months when the stock shocks blow out the ride will be CRAP. Maybe your dad is trying to save you a headache or just tryin to give you one. My father was always the one in the garage during a motor swap telling us don't be pussy's and put the bastard in or weld the mounts up and put the motor in today so we could go burn the tires in it tomorrow.

Yeah man my dad does that shit too. It pisses me off because it's my car and so far I've paid for it and everything on it and my insurance. He wont let me put an intake on because he doesn't think it will do anything. He doesn't want me to paint it either cause it's a waste of money. Ohwell I guess one day he'll get over it.

I like your dad.
As far as 89civicsi's dad- There isnt much you can do man. try reasoning maybe. It sucks having parents who dont support your hobbys. I think you should be able to do whatever you want to your car if youre the one paying for it. I paid for each and every mod I have ever done to my cars. That way I never heard any slack from mom. Sorry your situation sucks.

True that. My dad doesent really like shit I do to the civic like rims, and intake, and some other shit, but whats funny is he didnt trip about the clears even though I TOLD him the legality was questionable, and he was like get ambers, so I did for the sidemarkers, but the bumper lenses are still stock bulbs.
My dad does support me mountain biking so its all good then.

Oh and he absolutley HATES stereo shit like the sub or anything to do with it yet he helped me build a box for it, so thats all good too.
At least he didnt trip too much about the VX rims, he fuckin hated these 15's I had rolling on low pro's.
I wonder what he is gonna say about the yellow calipers, maybe he wont notice.:D

My dads into this aftermarket stuff. He just installed new headers, and full exhaust onto his Nissan truck. We are currently looking into dropping in the 300Ztt motor, which is a direct bolt in btw. :D

My dad is cool with me modifying my car. He just always says "You gotta be stupid to do this" or "if you f*ck up, have fun walking" or "i ain't gonna pay for that, get a job ya bum". I won't even tell you what he said when I told him about the engine swap and turbo I'm planning.
My advice to you is to tell your dad that since your car now has a lower center of gravity, and you now have lessened the body roll, that means you have increased your traction in a sense, and due to that increased traction, you are less likely to get into an accident if you have to do an "evasive manuever". So really, you installed the lowering springs as a safety precaution.

LOL, my friend tried a technical explanation like that when he installed his intake to my dad, and my dad kept straight shutting him down and wouldnt listen to reason.
