where can I get the logo that goes at the end of my hood? (see signature for car type)

I don't know what it looks like, and how to install it.. apparently the previous owner had had it stolen, and she capped the hole off.

i tried removing the cap, and it looks like a metal piece that was welded on to it.. (jeez, what an idiot! --- whom happens to be my step mother :screwy: )

anyways, how can i remove the cap, what's the logo look like, and how do i put it on? thanks..

Possible sources could be eBay( try this link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1994-Chevy-Caprice-hood-ornament-assembly_W0QQitemZ300115223110QQihZ020QQcategoryZ3 3643QQcmdZViewItem), salvage yards, and it wouldn't be too far fetched to try a Chevy dealer. Yeah the car is 13 years old, but I've seen some dealers have items in their inventory 15 years or more.

I'm not really sure how you'd go about removing the welded cap without seeing it firsthand. My guess would be to heat it up and try to remove it but you risk damaging the paint or surrounding metal.
I tried that link before posting this and it worked. If by chance it doesn't work for you again , go to ebay.com and enter 300115223110 in the search box.

The problem with your first link is the end parantheses that snuck its way in there.

As for the hood ornament, I actually have one sitting in my parts bin. I had it on my car for a bit, looking for an "SS" theme for a boxy, it just didn't look right so I took it off and threw it in the box. The part I have is just the top part sans spring.

Aha! Good catch. I was wondering why it wasn't working since I copied and pasted it directly from the eBay page I saw it on. I guess the next time I do something like that I should put enough space at the end of the link so any punctuation does not interfere with the link.

i need the whole assembly.. spring, mounting nut, emblem, all i have is this hole in my hood..

(i actually got the cap removed, it wasn't a weld, it was CEMENT.. I got it removed and now i have this ugly hole)

I see them in the yards all the time. You should have no problem finding a complete one in good shape.

I had one on my Buick Roadmaster, sister to the Caprice/Impala SS. and it broke off a couple of winters ago as I was cleaning a lot of snow off my car. A large section of snow on the hood broke off near the windshield and slid down the hood to the ground snapping off the hood ornament in it's way. Boy was I mad:mad: :swear:. It looked like one of those pictures up in the Arctic depicting global warming where they show these large sheets of ice sliding off of glaciers into the ocean.
Those emblems for the Roadmaster are a little harder to find. I see them on occasion on eBay. They usually start out around five bucks and quickly accelerate in price, sometimes reaching $40 to $50. I'll wait to I find a lower priced one.

UPDATE: My father sent a message to that ebay post, and he said it does have the mounting nut.. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but hopefully he's telling the truth.. He's gonna try and buy it for me..

Cool. I've always had good luck on eBay. I bought myself a NOS (Brand new "New Old Stock") Caprice emblem on there... It's the nicest thing on the body of my car now. I also got a set of NOS "Caprice Classic" chrome scripts that go on the front fenders. I'm waiting until the car's repainted to put those on.
