I think there is a 1:24 diecast version, though I'm not sure who makes it. I think I saved the link to the gallery of a Japanese guy who has one...I'll be able to check on that in about 6 hours. Anyway, my thought is that if there is a diecast, we may be able to convince someone to replicate the body in resin, then there's the possibility of using an e24 for the chassis.

Well, the ones I found were all 1:43 scale, but I'm not giving up yet. SCHABAK apparently has made many 535i models, though the years aren't listed anywhere that I can find. Take a look at this: http://www.car43.ch/bmw.htm

Also, check this out: http://www.diecastmuscle.com/store/CON8-PMA9981SA

No pics again, but the site does say that the car is a "saloon." Listings for other 5-series on the diecastmuscle site list them as "sedans." I'm wondering if the particular model (for which I sent you a link) is an e28. The site lists the builder as "Paul's Model Art." When I type in "www.paulsmodelart.com" I get the Minichamps website, which is no help. I'll research more tomorrow. There has to be an e28 out there somewhere!

My dream would be to find one made by BMW individual (a promo given out by dealers). That would be the item to duplicate.

Aargh, so far I've found out that Paul's Model Art made an e39, and that the SCHABAK police car is an e34. The search continues...

I just sent an email to [email protected], the admin of www.minibimmers.com, asking him if he knows of any e28s. Check this out (scale not named): http://www.minibimmers.com/5seriesracingcars.htm

dude ur awesome, you must like bimmers too, btw, how can i purchase that race bimmer&/or figure out the scale?, i bought the 1:43 e28 m5 from autoart awhile ago, and im trying to figure out, whether its worth scratchbuilding one or not, maybe i could get the revel 635 e24kit and a later model fujimi e34 5 series, and mate them together and improvise

keep it on topic guys.
considering that this is a modelling forum and you re talking real cars, not to mention that it's only you two chatting, this can be kept to PMs.

I received notification from the owners of minibimmers.com...There is unfortunately no e28 in 1:24. D'oh!
