questions about 318i

I have an opportunity to purchase a 1997 318i with 150K miles on it. The car is in immaculate shape but what repairs can I expect in the next 50K miles? How many miles should I expect to get out of a 318i engine that has been maintained properly? I have never owned a BMW with the closest being a Volkswagan Jetta.

I have a 1997 918i with 217K and still going strong. However, in the last 50k, I have repaired the climate control computer, replaced the lower control arm balljoints, lower control arm bushings, water pump, radiator, belts and hoses. (The water pump and radiator were preventative maintenace issues). I have just had the mass air flow meter, valve cover gaskets and spark plug gaskets replaced. This may sound like a lot but it's been over the course of about two and a half years. Overall, I'm happy with my car and will buy another BMW.
