need some help with honda accord 96

my car dies when I used the breaks. I can turn it on
again, but it does the same thing. I notice the problem when I am driving
with low fuel, but when I drive it with at lease half tank, it doesn't
give me any problems.

Ford had a lotta problems like this back in the 80's...it turned out there was a deflector around the fuel pickup on the in-tank pump that would sag over the years and allow the pump to pick up aerated fuel from the return line flow once the tank was about half full...they'd usually die as the driver came to stop.

I've never heard anything like this for Honda, though...but if the tank got bottomed out or otherwise damaged, it's a possibility...

You run it out of fuel recently?

I’m not sure,maybe you can tell me, look this is what happened.
About two months ago, I was on my way back from school and before I got home my car die. The first thing I checked was the fuel. It was about a quarter of the tank. I also tried to turned it on again but didn’t work. Then I walked to a gas station to get some gas. After a few tries the car worked, but the problem started there. Every time, I had to stop my car die until I got to the gas station again but this time I got a full tank. The same day I took the car to a mechanic. He didn’t find anything wrong with the car and neither do I. I drove the car for a few days without a problem but at soon as my car had less than half tank the problem started it again and... you know the rest.

I think you need to have the fuel pump/float/sender removed from the tank and inspected...something is wrong in there...you may have a partially restricted pump strainer or something like that.

BTW is this a manual or automatic?

If you take it to a mechanic when it's having the problem, they can run fuel pressure tests and probably diagnose it pretty quickly.
