replacing rear washer pump

I recently aquired a 2000 Silo premeir w/49600 miles for a song. I have driven it from Fl to Ny and it gave me 28.9 for milage.The only problem I can find is that the rear washer doesn't work. I pulled off the hose to the pump and there doesn't seem to be enough pressure to push the fluid the length it needs to go. Is there a screen, or should I just replace the pump. Also how do I go about doing this. Any help would be appreciated.

From what you said, it sounds like the pump has gone limp. :smokin:
I don't see any mention of a filter in the service manual. Manual just says "remove the old pump" and install new one (after disconnecting the electrical connector and hose).

If you mean that you took the hose off at the pump, switched the pump on and got a very poor flow, then I would replace the pump.
You might also want to take the hose off the FRONT pump and test it, to compare the flow to the rear pump.

It is also possible that the hose going to the back is clogged, or the rear spray valve is clogged. Not much else to the system.

Thats what I did. I took off the hose to the rear pump, and very poor pressure coming out, just a trckle. Do you have to take the whole reservour out to take out the pump? Or does it just clip in?

I have not looked very closely at mine, and the manual is not much help.
I think you are on your own to decide what is the best way to replace it.

I looked at my Montana manual and at the van itself, and replacing the pump looks to be pretty easy. Just disconnect the electrical connector and carefully pry the pump (rear pump is to the rear) away from the reservoir. It appears the reservoir is molded such that the pump sort of snaps in. Once the pump is away from the reservoir, it looks like you just pull it up and out. I'm guessing it has an o-ring seal on it, maybe even a hose on it, too, so it can pull fluid from the bottom. So, you could pull it first and see if the hose is plugged (assuming it has a hose).

On my van, there is plenty of room to work in there without removing the reservoir.
