Ok then, is there any description on the various codes to read and to send.
Reading the workshop manual, there seems to be possible to get live data as well.

Check this out:
www.avigex.ca/xport/readingcodes.jpg and www.avigex.ca/xport/3800codes.jpg
Then check this www.avigex.ca/xport/index.doc for a lot of pages most of them scanned from the '93 transport manual; one difference with the '92: yours probably does not have an EGR valve.

Ok, got that, but what I really want to do is to tap into the serial line, otherwise I cant get the ABS-codes nor do the various tests, I guess.

There once was a very talented german guy, Manfred, who wrote software to comunicate with the control modules in the Trans Sport. The 3.8 PCM and the ABS module speaks ALDL 8192 baud, with a certain protocol.

You can easely build yourself an interface to connect a PC to the PCM, and run Manfred´s software (most of it is in english!)

Check this site for interface drawing and software:
http://www.pontiac-interface.de/
Use Manfred´s software running DOS and not the new stuff "TS-Diag" that is not ready yet.
