Replacing Ball joints

Have a 98 2WD and need to replace the upper and lower ball joints. What is the best way to get the rivets out of the uppers? Will an air chisel do the job, or do they need to be drilled out? Thanks.

An air chisel will work just fine, take your time and go slow.

When I replaced the ball joints on my '69 Firebird I drilled out the tops of the rivets and then used a BFH and a chisel and knocked them right out. That's actually the easy part of the job.

I've used air chisels, Dremels and cut-off wheels in drills - all do the job with ease.
