Please Help me Select a 330

Hello All,
First, congrats on a Great Forum. Lots of info for all levels of BMW inquisitors.
I've Always loved the 330 model from date of inseption, but could never afford the most current model. Can't seem to find reviews for the 330 year over year for, say, the last 7 years. Can anyone please direct me? Or can anyone recommend a 330 model/year that has the least amount of problems. I have NO mechanical ability whatsoever, and cant afford expensive fixes at the mechanic shop. Basically, I'm looking for a very reliable 330 model, preferrably AWD (as I live in the midwest, one of the Snow Capitals).

Thank you for any help you can give.

As a rule of thumb, it's best not to get a car the first year it comes out just because it is the first time that model has been in wide release and therefore is the first chance an automaker has to see what problems may occur. Depending on your taste (I actually like the exterior styling of the last 3-series (e46) more than the new one (e90)), it would be smarter to get a 2005 330 which is the last year they made the e46. By then, even though the platform was aging, they were still able to keep up with newer competition because of their design. And an added bonus is that most problems (if any) that plagued the e46 had been fixed. There are a few recalls up through the 2003 model year but none for the 2004 or 2005 years. The newer e90 platform has not had much time to work out its problems (not saying they aren't great cars though) and as is expected there's more 'stuff' in it meaning that there is more potential for something to go wrong. In your case I would think that the smartest option would be to look for an 04 or 05 330xi (assuming you do want all-wheel-drive.) Hope this helps.
