Too much pressure in fuel line

My appologies for the probable lack of technical names for car parts.

MY dad has a2001 Kia Sportage and is about ready to crucify the Dealer and mechanic. Seems that the fuel leak is happening at the Charcol Filter (under the hood) It's the small round gizmo about 2" in diameter and about 2 1/2" long, sits horizontaly directly in front of a rather large Black container with two fuel lines entering the unit.
Fuel is leaking at this point of the vehicle. He has had the Preasure Sensor changed ($350.00 by the time they had finished with him at the dealer) and it still leaks fuel. Gas milage is atrocious as well.
We called Kia Canada and they were suposed to have their fancy ass mechanic in Toronto or wherever call the mecanic at the local Kia dealer but I don't think that call ever took place as this is the third time he has had it in there for the same problem.
Any insight as to what is causing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it could be the fuel filter. Why would they change the pressure sensor if the fuel filter is defective?

Good question. Why has it been there three times and still not fixed? The big black unit (about 6"wX4"hX8"d) is the charcol filter unit. It's the small round gizmo that sits in front of this unit that is leaking the fuel. Fuel line goes into this unit then to the charcol filter.
