Bmw X7

BMW is planning an X7 off-roader to compete with the Range Rover, Porsche Cayenne and forthcoming Audi SUV. So what happens to the X5? Doesn’t that compete with these cars? :confused:

X5 is not going anyware, in fact BMW is very much looking at the SAV as a saving grace for there off-road market. the article is quite old, so im not quite sure how much to read into it... if BM do make the X7, is it gonna be that much bigger than the X5 to be so expensive? :confused:

Well offering a 12cylinder bigger I would think is not a question for the X7 ...powerful... as for size of the body think taller, more ground clearence, and longer rommer interrior is what I would say to expect

that does make sense... and to think the X5 has tremendous presence, how much presence is this thing gonna have? :D

the x7 won´t be built!!!!
it is only a prototype like z9 or cs1 and so on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the 3series coupe got a facelift.. WHY?!?! i preferred it before and BMW said it wouldnt facelift the coupe/cabrio.... anyway i cant seem to get information about the revised 3 coupe... will the 330 have 6 gears? i read this somewhere but im not sure its true...

not really a insider but me and my dad have many big friends at bmw!
the 3 series coupe will get the rings around the lights like all future models will get... i don´t know why...
that they will facelift the coupe cabrio it is rumored since they lifted the limousine and touring!
i haven´t heard anything of a 330 6 gear...
i´ll hear arround ... what i will get i´lll post here

yes it will be the 3 series but it will be only named "4 series"

what about the new m5?

well i don´t have much info about that...
it will have a v10
and probably more than 500 ps but you know that already!

Still the fastest sedan in the world. Audi has it for a while but, the title will soon belong to BMW again.

as all the time before.... and the old m5 wasn´t bad.. mercedes e 55 and rs6 only were a bit better...

Its not about power!! The RS6 and E55 are quicker than the M5 in a straight line, but every review i've read (ive driven an M5 but not yet the other 2) concludes that the BM is still the best because its by far the most thrilling to drive and easily the best out of the three through corners!!! Cant you see? Audi and Merc have gone power crazy. Its so naive, because the M5 is still the best at the most important thing: driver enjoyment!! isnt that the whole point of these cars? You bet your ass it is!!!

Look how stupid Audi have been with the new S4: the M3 has 343 bhp, so the S4 has 344bhp!! How childish and stupid is that!! The M3 still whips its ass!! the difference in class between the two cars is a chasm!!

Make no mistake about it, for all those with their head in the right place, the mighty M5 still rules

you´re right
in handling and fun the m5 is the best.
but there are still some potential buyers who prefer a 480 ps over a 400...

of course i also prefer the m5!!!
(and for me i think it´s the best...)

I dissagree with the handeling. I have drivin the S4 and A43.0L and 1.8T and they have outstanding handaling. You can floor it into a S-turn and not spin out!

That's not handling. That's grip. There's a world of difference.

no idea why BMW did the facelift . . . its not big tho, only something with the headlights and turn signals . . .

and the 330 with six gears is coming out, its the 330iHP, along with six gears there are new profile cams and an exhaust . . . BMW says its good for 10 extra horsepower, but i dont have any doubt that the HP will probably blow out the normal 330i, 0-60 should be a lil under 6 seconds

along with all that, the 330iHP is supposed to have an m-technic body kit . . . really just a front spoiler and mild side skirts

i had a pic of it but lost it . . . will try to look for it

330iHP? wow... never heard of that... where did you get that information from? I thought the 330Ci was now getting six gears as standard, and that the side skirts, rear diffuser and front spoiler are basically the Sport pack..

if you have a source and that pic i would greatly appreciate it as i havent seen the facelifted Sport model

it was a thread on e36fanatics.com a while back . . .

cant find it, but i was just looking at the new car and driver, march issue, and they have all the info i just stated . . . its with all the other new cars coming out . . . etc

edit: oh yeah, in car and driver, they call it the 330i performance package . . . the first i heard of it it was dubbed 330iHP, but we will see what BMW ends up calling it . . . its going to be out for MY 2004 which i believe starts mid september, car and driver stated it was in production as one was reading the mini-article on it . . .

btw, the 330ci will not have a 6speed, the HP, PP, performance package, whatever u want to call it will be only available on the 330i, no coupe models or all wheel drive models

i´m sure it won´t be named something like 330i HP

it will prob just be an option and won´t have another type shield on the back

Yeah, i really dont think it will be called 330i HP or anything close to that... i think the Sport pack will still result in a 325/330Ci Sport, simple as that..... and 330's are getting 6-speeds, ive now seen it in many credible sources

About the new 3-series coupe facelift.. it will kick some butt I tells ya!! and it will be 6-speed.

the face lift u speak of is only some different side blinkers, and LED taillights

the 330i with performance package is a totally different model . . . no other 3 series will see a 6speed . . . or so BMW has said

youre not reading right

new front lights
new front air dam
new side blinkers
LED lights

AND, if every magazine is to be believed 6 gears on 330's

besides, why would BMW only offer a performance pack on only 330's and not 330Ci's? that has to be the most non-sensical thing in the world

If I would have to buy such a vehicle there would be no doubt in my head to buy the Porsche Cayenne! But I would still prefer an X7 over a shitty Range Rover.. (Read the thread I posted under the Range Rover forum..)
