Hello all.I have a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1liter.I discovered a rather unusual problem a few days ago and I am posting this so others who are experiencing similar problems may have some relief.I noticed that the car was shifting a little off and the transmission would slip a little when I was turning left not when I was going straight or turning right.Well I checked the transmission fluid and behold it was so low there was none on the dip stick well I knew a few days ago it was full and and I didn't have a leak so I added 2 1/2 quarts and all of a sudden the car started bellowing white clouds of smoke.I was thinking to myself great a blown head gasket or a bad intake gasket.Well come to find out I jad talked to a buddy of mine and he said check thew moduator on the transmission it goes from there to the intake manifold it is connected by a vacuum line he said take the line off and check for tranny fluid well it was full of it.The diaphram on the modulator had gone bad and was sucking tranny fluid in through the intake and burning it through the exhaust.Well the modulator was 13.00 at Autozone and only took about 15 minutes to fix.All better now..I just thought I would share that little bit of info.

I just bought a 1996 Grand Prix SE 3 weeks ago, after driving it for the first week I noticed this problem was starting to happen. It's nice to know exactly what all I might need to do to fix it. (: Thank you Jimmy
