i have a b16a now that smokes liek a champ which is probably due to valve seals, piston rings or both. i want to fix the problem and do it my self to save the money with labor. i am, not sure how to go about these things so i was first wondering if there is some hoe to do site for these such things. i was talking to a few friends and they said that its pretty labor intensive and can be expensive. i can get the parts at cost from honda so thats not a prob. i was mostly wondering if its worth the labor or when i can gat a b16 for like 600. my other option is to just got with a b18c gsr engie. any one know the cost on that bad boy. any information on these topics would help.

thanks

pedro

With the money you're spendin on gsr u can make your b16 a 13 second ride all motor.

Look for a B16 or B18c on the parts trader....since you already have the mounts and tranny than the motor you should be able to grab cheap.

i thought you were trying to save money? Just fix the B16. Mellowboy is right on. Plus, how sure are you that the GSR will not smoke on you?:flash:

Pick up a chilton or haynes manual. They are pretty self explainatory on stuff like that.

Not so much. his B16 ran a 15.1 or 15.2 with the all the bolt ons. His car needs to stay very reliable. he commutes to school and work and puts a fair amount of miles on his car. Get the b18 pedro! Get the torque. Then maybe your heavy ass SI can keep with the sleeper.... heehee. Yes his name really is pedro by the way.

Pedro- read the If you live in Maryland please read thread. Ill talk to you about it tomorrow night at work.

I keep telling him that! LS, B20 or ZC. I made him a ZC believer. But not in his SI. car is too heavy.

Ok? Si is not that heavy. Stop makin it sound like its a del sol! It only weighs 2176:rolleyes: B16 in a rex is capable of hittin 14.7 stock with good driving of course! I don't care i love my si and my V-TEC B16 no matter what you guys think! .....bitches;) :D

Oh and if you worry about the torque. Just get a gsr or type r block and throw your b16 head on it.:)
