Tail Light Conversions.

I was reading ImportEZine and came accross a how-to, on making a fiberglass mold for a taillight conversion. ( http://www.importezine.com/How_to/taillight_mold/howto_tailmold.htm )
I was wondering if anyone has used this method. I'm thinking of doing a Supra conversion on mine. This would work good because it would not require any cutting on the stock body. (supra tails are smaller than the tails on my 1990 civic HB)
But the question i am having is, how would i actually mount the Supra tails to the car, without leaving ugly gaps between the fiberglass mold, and the mounting brackets from the frame of the car ?
