Quick Brake Replacement Help

I just bought a set of EBC Green Stuff Brake pads to replace my stock pads in a 2000 2.5RS. The calipers came apart and the pads removed easily, but when trying to put it all back together Ive come across a problem. The pads fit fine, but the calipers wont slide over the pads and rotor. The top caliper bolt alligns but the bottom receiver seems to be about 1/8 inch too long and will not allow the caliper to slide into position. Even though the new pads are quite thick, the old ones didnt seem to wear correctly...they are worn at a slight angle as if there was too much pressure on the bottom of the pads. The top receiver slides in and out to comensate for pad size but the bottom ones are locked, is this correct? The only solution I can see is to cut the bottom receiver off and weld it on 1/8 inch shorter(not something I want to do). Anyone ever had this problem before? I could really use some help here!

Well...problem solved. I used my disk grinder to take off about a 1/16 from the bottom receivers then levered the calipers down over the pads. They're a little tight for now but once the brake-in coating wears off everything should be fine. Hopefully this will help someone down the line, but hopefully no one has the same problem as me...
