Ive got a 2006 silverado with a 4.8 engine.
Im about to buy a programmer but I was hoping to get a little input from people who already have bought one on which one is the best.

Most people here will recommend getting a professional tune such as Wheatly's, Nelson, ect.

I have a Hypertech for the '98 Sub 7.4. Did not notice any real HP gains but some MPG gain. For my wifes '05 Dodge 5.9 Cummins I have a SuperChip. Noticable HP gain and MPG gain (2+) and you can update the programmer via the e-net. The best thing I like about them both is that I can adjust the speedo when I swap out different size winter and summer tires. Hope this helps.........Steve

Ok here's the real question...who's custom tune is better???

I've seen people sware by nelson, then other ppl say wheatley is better. I know I'd rather have a custom tune rather than a random programmer, but which tune?

Well, for starters, Wheatley is about $200 cheaper

I've been tuned by Nelson for 3 years now. He's done a great job up until the last few tunes. I've got several friends running Wheatley tunes, and after viewing some logs of these trucks, I'd say he's the man to go with these days. Nelson still does a great tune on a stock truck, but his prices are still alittle too high for a basic truck tune.

Yeah I'm pretty much sold on a wheately tune. Now I just have to convince the wife that it gets me better gas mileage :grinyes:
