How much do you think my car's worth?

I haven't a clue how much that my car's worth. Most of you have seen the pics of my beat-A$$ ride so i dont think i'll post the pics again. I will if you need me to, tho. The body (well...what's left of it;) :p ) has approximately 195k on it. The interior is near perfect...and no rips in those Si seats, either. The heat works, and i installed a CD headunit. All of the other mods pretty much are in my signature. What do you think I could get for this thing? I bought it for $1200, and I have somewhere between $4,500 and $5,000 into the thing:eek: . The reason I'm considering selling it is because I have another rex project in mind....one that involves less rust...and less house paint:p

If the body is straight and little rust and no holes or anything than i would try for around $4300...it has high miles but the reality of it is that people what a car with a motor swap already done and they will pay more that what the car is worth and they will ignore the original miles on the car. If the body is crap that i would try for likr $3600...i wouldn't go much lower than that. My friend put his CRX with 170,000 miles in it with a B18a on the parts trader and with in 3 days he had over 20 people emailing him about it. The car went for $4500 with good paint. People will pay more for VTEC. Put it on the parts trader (it's free) and see what kind of offers you get.

id give you 5g canadian for that, up here you could get 7 or 8 easy

yeh, i put it on thepartstrader. I've gotten 2 emails since it's been on there (one day so far). The body is shit....looks like it was painted w/ house paint and a roller. some dents, and a good amount of rust. and how much is 5G canadian in US dollars?

unfortunaltly mods only lower car value. and with so many people judging cars on their looks then that will lower it also. I would give you 2500 now for it if you could find a way to get it to me cheap

lol, yea i was wondering, what happened to ur hood? did u just decide to show off the b16 one day? my friend did that, he has a h22 in his 5g hatch, and drove to the local races without his hood to look cool or whatever, and no1 wanted to race him, not even the rustangs..... they are like, thats a different engine, and since he has a polished valve cover, the local isiots said how his whole engine is portted and polished.... what fukin morons.......

whats funny, is that people think because they have some "mods" done to an old car, with a ton of miles. mods or not, its a 1989 honda economy car, with high miles. you can not buy a used car, drive it and beat on it (most definitely) put work into it, and think that all of a sudden its worth 3 times more than you paid for it.
people get clouded by these "mods" thinking they are 1.) getting a good deal, or 2.) getting something better than what it really is.

buy a car for what its actually worth, not for what it was worth to the previous owner.

Lets be realistic here. Check any classifieds ad website, and see what similar cars are going for. Mods or not, mods sell. So wake up some.

mods sell to stupid little kids spending mommy's money, who want a "fast and furious" car.
in all my experience on AF/PH, you tend to notice that most people here arent like that. so to ask how much you can sell your 200k mile 89 civic for, you'd better be prepared to get some responses stating what the car is actually worth. good morning.

I dont think he would sell it on here anyways. We all have 4th gens, and we like to do our own work.

If I can sell my car for an extra $1k, etc. to some kid spending mommy and daddy's money. So be it. I wont sleep less at night.

i dont know...i sold my 87 chrysler conquest tsi (same as mitsubishi starion) 2.6L inline 4 rwd turbo FMIC and stuff...well the interior sucked, the exterior was ok (lots of door dings and shit) but when you popped the hood it all went away....FULL PORT AND POLISH, bored .20 over, 3in hardpipes, Turbo XS boost controller, Super Sequencial Blow off valve (ppssssst), 4in downpipe, 3.5 in straight pipe dumped out in front of the pass. side rear tire), 17C turbo (clipped and ported), Marinal non jet head (no jet valves) converted to mechanical lifters from hydrolic, 298 Cam (race cam), and all kinds of other shit...i had guy gooogling over that set up and well when they saw the 12 sec. time slips that helped as well...this car was in no pretty cond. as i just got 3K in insurence settlements from 2 accidents (not my fault), and still sold it for 4000...so i made 7K on it in the end lol

I wasn't looking to sell it on here, because i know that you all like to do your own work...and also know that I dont just "put-put" around in this thing ;) I would never buy a modified car...or one that I thought had been beat on....the i want to be the one that beats on it:p

Oh, and the reason that there is no hood in that one pic is that it was the first night that we got my 2nd B16 started...and I wanted to drive around town and show it off (the valve cover paint job is by far superior to the car's) since the thing hadn't been around for over a month.

:) no we didnt decide to show off the b that was the night i had finished the motor swap. fishcat was pissed because my friend and i drove it around while he was at work and that pissed him off. we also got pulled over that night:D :p for speeding loud exhaust reckless driveing. got away with a verbal:cool: . but the hood is on now. plus fishcat wanted to show off my bad ass paint job on the valve cover. lol
