prismacolors are awsome ,they lay down so smooth compared to other pencils which is perfect for cars, but because of this they break real easy and go blunt really fast but i do have a heavy hand

polychromas -are great aswell, they last longer lay down well but not aswell as prisma

and of course theres derwents aswell they are my prefered 3 in order i guess,

maybe for now buy them as singles fro man art shop supplier and try them out for yourself and whichever brand you prefer then buy them as a set :)

I would definitely recommend Prismacolors. I went out and bought an expensive brand(Staedtler) and was disappointed at how hard they were. They didn't lay down nice at all, especially on heavier paper. I like Prismas because you can build color with them.

They dull and can break quickly as rexins-art said, but the results are worth it.

Good luck! B

Prismacolor weren't available around here, so I chose Faber Castell Polychromos. They are great aswell, very soft and smooth compared to other color pencils (of course I don't know whether they can be compared with Prismacolor). I think I never broke a lead with them yet. I think they are a good alternative to Prismacolors.
