Reinstalling speedometer on a Civic 83

My car was stuck in the garage for 5 years... after being srviced it 's out again but the speedometer does'nt move how can i chek to see if it's connected ?

back side of your tranny, down low theres a cable that goes straight down into the tranny, make sure thats plugged in first of all.Next try to remove the guage cluster and watch the cable end to see if it spins when your driving, if it doesnt maybe the cable is stuck or broken. hope this helps...
