Not that fast...

I was comming back from working out, taking the somewhat scenic route, just killing time, when I came across a silver Dodge Dakota, 5.9 R/T, and it sounded somewhat mean. Had a shaker scoop on the hood, sounded like an exhaust, and I dunno, maybe something else. Had a bunch of MOPAR stickers on it, too.
Anyways, I was kinda admiring it, thinking about the fast trucks that we have on here, and the guy saw me. He had his windows down, and when we came to a light, he shouted over and asked what I thought.
I told him it looked pretty nice, sounded good, and asked if he had any work done too it. He said he had a bit, basics, and that it could scoot pretty good and that it was fast. I just kinda nodded. I like trucks, but for some reason, I'm more of a truck for hauling cargo, not ass, but still, I appriciate someone who seems nice enough and would put the work into it.
So after a few more lines back and forth (he said I had a nice car, but didn't understand the decepticon stickers under the side mirrors, asked if it was some special edition or something), I asked if he wanted to go. He said sure, but we had cars in front of us, so we decided to play some simple cat and mouse to get up front for the next light. Nothing to dangerous, really, as it was open, just some quick punching it for a gap.
Anyways, we get lined up at the next light, and he revs a few times. I just kinda nod, but reving won't do anything for me, and ever since that one time...well...we wont go there.
So, light goes green, and we both punch it off the line. I get a good jump, he has some wheel spin but most likely becuase he was punching it with an empty bed. I get about a half car lead, he holds it there up through first and second. I hit third, and start pulling more, and shut down about three-four cars up on him, going about 100. Not that fast, but we were in a forty.
He pulls up next to me, has a huge grin on his face and a big thumbs up. I return the thumbs up, and at the next light, he asks what I got. Told him nothing but an intake, and he laughed. Said I had to have more than that, but he'd see me around, and next time it wouldn't be so easy. I just smiled, and thought no, chances of what I might be driving next being what they are...not that easy for him at all.
All in all, he was pretty cool, wasn't a dick about it or anything.

Good race/kill. Nice to see you're having at least some kind of fun out there.
SO, what car are you planning on picking up next?

I'm about 98% set on a 335i Coupe. Montego blue, saddle interior. The only thing thats making me wonder is how low in pricing the E46 Ms are around here. Saw one the other day, 2002 Carbon Black with SMG and 42k on the clock for 28k.

I would have thought by the time you got to 60-70mph you would really start putting lengths on him simpily due to aerodynamics.

That doesn't sound all too bad... The price tags on the E46s will continue to drop once the E92s show up at local BMW Dealers...

Indeed. I mean, it would be nice to get the M, after all, it is an M, but with what I'm looking for in a car right now, its looking more and more like the 335i. My goal right now is to be in a new car by September at the latest.

That's why I envy you Civ... If you see a black sedan with presidential tint pull up next to your house, and see four men dressed in black with sunglasses on step out from the vehicle - take my advice and don't answer the door bell :icon16:
J/K...
But I'm so fuggin jealous right now... And if it was a R33, I'd honestly lose it! :screwy:

Ooooh....one by me, looks so gorgeous, so tempting...if only I had money....but seriosuly, be careful, I hear a lot of problems with the turbos/cooling. Personally I'd go with a late E46, no SMG of course.

Actually, thats the funny thing about the 335is. There is all this worry about the DPs, that they are fragile and over heat, but people are running Turbo Tuners, Xedes, PROcedes, all that with cat back exhausts, and not a single problem from the Downpipes. However...there are people who have thus far gone seven weeks waiting for new High Pressure Fuel Pumps that have gone out.
