Forza 2 anyone?

Am I one of the few on this part of the forums to be eagerly awaiting forza motorsport 2? I mean, there is no new 'racing simulators' coming out soon.
PS3 has that F1 Game, Nascar 08, and Colin's Rally game, called Dirt.

Anyone up for a challenge? I downloaded the Demo of XBL, and its simply amazing. better than forza, and GT 4 according to me. And those of you that play racing sims with ABS, it is extremly easy to lock the brakes in this game w/o it.

its pretty difficult when being used to all the assists, then turning them all off.
stability control, abs, and traction control. but you're faster w/o any of them, well i am anyway.

i believe this is the only console game that has real life new car dynos, and such. true engine noises and everything. i can make a quick vid of every car in the demo revving the engine and going through the gears, as they all are different.

in their demo track, C class - i can grab a 1:05:--- in the rx8
A class - i can grab a 1:00:487 in the ferrari 430

I'm picking it up the very first day it comes out... Too bad I won't be able to play it 'till I get back from work, but I'll be on that same day, causing chaos on the tracks :naughty:

...I have had the demo for quite sometime now, and I agree that it's simply amazing. Everything works to perfection, especially with the Microsoft wheel. Pure excellence. I only use the C Class cars, and I hit a 1:05:293 in the Fairlady Z... That's my highest so far. Also got a 1:05:942 in the E36 M3.

My gamertag on XBL is KiillaKam, so add me up Chiquae, and we'll get it on and poppin' when the game ships! :popcorn:

I don't have XBox live...it was either spend 99 bucks on the wireless adapter for my wireless network, or put the 40 bucks I had on a game stop edge card from selling the XBox on Forza 2. Once I get it, I might be on Live, but I don't want to pay for the subscription for gold. Meh, we'll see. All I know is I have paid forty bucks for it already, hopefully I'll have the cash to pay for the rest of it when it comes out.

imma see if my local gamestop has it at midnight. that way i dont have to sleep. otherwise, its a pure stand outside bestbuy at opening to get it, 10 am if im right. maybe i should stop being lazy and just preorder it to get the volk fairlady z.

Ya know whats funny? I do pretty damned good with the thumbstick controller and all, I mean, I'm not like one of those nationally ranked guys, but I'm good. I do pretty good on most my racing games with it. But whenever I try to use one of the force feedback wheels, I always go slammng into walls and shit, lol.

Yes, the FFB wheel is well worth the money. Feels incredible, especially when you got a decent set up for the wheel... Including a stand, and a nice seat.

Keep in mind that Forza 2 is being made around the wheel, and their main focus is on making it the best driving experience in a console game possible, and to tell you the truth, with this wheel, and like I said a good set up for it... it's pretty damn possible.

And talking about the times for the C Class, when you're going to be doing the hot laps, make sure you have all the assists off... including the suggested line... That's how I drive, and it's only fair if you do the same :evillol: ...

Let me know if you break the 1:04:XXX mark... I'm going to try it myself tomorrow, when I get back from work.

no assists at all for me. maybe for the first few laps to know the car and how much it oversteers/understeers, and how much i can powerslide w/o getting the rear end lose, then the brake only suggested line comes off.

I will be getting it been waiting on it for a good long time. Pretty sure it will end the GT series just cuz you will have to buy alot of stuff on the actual GT5 game.

The ranking thing i got rated 900th on the first one. Been hammering the crap out of Tskuba pushing 57 seconds in a B1 impreza.

However the best person i ever raced number 2 in the world also known as 'Hangin in the lbc' his C1 86 corolla VS my spirit RX-7 B1 fastest ive ever ran on FujiMakaido downhill 1 was a 2:58 when we raced i did a 2:55 he did 2:56 i was shocked he was that damn good.

i can get a 1:06.3xx in the fairlady. ive actually stopped using the rx-8 for awhile, as i was stuck at 1:05.8 all today. i then started to use the M3, and got a 1:05.2xx. and i was pissed cuz its damned hard to beat that time.

Wasn't able to get anything better than the score I posted with the Z yesterday... Eh, it was a bad day - oh well, I'll come back to the Z and see what I can do sometime in the future.
I raced the RX-8 and got a 1:06:013 as my best. I also was able to tell that the 8 has a much less amount of wheel spin compared to the Z, and for me it handles a lot better.

Chiquae, you're using the controler, right?
I need to fix my wheel set up, possibly get a new wheel stand or something... Was looking at Playseats Evolution wheel stand, because I can get one for about $270, and it's normal asking price is $300...
I'm just not sure as to if I want to spend that much money on it, though...

yes, im using both of my thumbs, and index fingers. its rediculious. ive figured out on what turns i can somewhat drift/powerslide through and have speeds of about 78mph. i dont like the fairlady too much, but its alright. seems like it would do well at a low speed technical course rather than this high speed course given in the demo.

my top tries soo far today. dont get mad lol. and im going to try and beat them too. gotta write down the times.

My only excuse for your times is that you're using the controler instead of the wheel... :grinno:
And that my wheel isnt mounted to anything... (Yes, I have to place it on my lap while sitting down) ...Maybe that's what's affecting my times, the wheel moves a lot due to the strong FFB...

Lol, I dont know, I just can't seem to get into the 1:05s, no matter what I do... Maybe I should try the controler myself...

P.S: Chiquae, we need to start a petition somewhere for Turn 10 to make the R33 Skyline GTR as a DLC via Xbox Live sometime in the future... I NEED THAT CAR IN THE GAME, DAMN IT! :banghead:

i now got a better PR of 1:05.284 with the rx-8. yea, im starting to get better. too bad there isnt a way to turn up the difficulty so see the actual lines you need to take....

r33 gtr? meeh, i dont care for them much. the r32 and r34 were way better in sega gt 2002, and forza 1. the r33 was just a huge no traction machine, crashing into anything and everything for me at least.
if it was up to me, id have a classic 1992 sentra se-r to compete with the crx in this game. also a r31 would be nice as well. but im not too much of a fan for r33's myself. i just dont like them i guess. but i'll tell you this, because of the demand for all the damned skylines, it will turn up into the game.

Yeah, I can only hope that it does... Because myself, I love the damn car... It's probably (arguably) the best looking GTR out of all of them...

P.S: Have you noticed how much easier it is to kick the tail on the Z compared to the RX-8? ...I see a world of a difference...

personally the best car B-S class in forza 1 has to be the Exgie that car is all the way round a monster.

easier to kick the tail out? i would have to differ. i think that is how are driving style is different i guess. it really depends where you keep the rpm around turns. for me i take the turns in 2nd gear at about redline about 70ish for the z. but for the 8, its all the way redline in second for the 8, but about 75ish. try corner 4 in 4th gear, then downshift into 3rd hitting the redline and turning in, you get quite a tad oversteer from the 8, and not the z. maybe that has to do with their weight distribution differences.

and i have a quick question, the demo isnt in full HDMI or 1080p yet is it? cuz it looks damned good as it is and it doesnt seem like it.

Nice time with the Z (Though you didn't finish in 1st place, because you were drafting :grinyes: ), our driving styles probably are a little different, because I rarely put the car in 2nd gear on this course at all, just doesn't seem like there is need to.
Once I find some more free time on my hands, I'm going to try and beat your time :grinno:

actually that was 1st place. i just cropped it all out. i just tend to let all the cars pass me right off the start, so the 1st lap is more of a monuvering around the cars lap to warm up the tires, and its more fun for me that way.
as for second gear, i do though. it seems that the z corners better when at 6k or higher. idk y it just does. it seems more stable as the tq isnt there to cause oversteer.

There is no way you can finish in first place with your Total Lap Time as it is in that picture... Even if you do drop back for the first lap, there is no way your fastest Lap Time can be at 1:05:0XX, and yet your total is a 3:41:316...
Look at my picture, the guy in second place ran a 3:41:XXX Total Lap Time, and his best was only a lousy 1:11:XXX if I remember correctly...
That means you had to draft, and there is no way you finished in first place that race...

I have nothing against drafting to get the best Lap Time, but why lie and claim you actually did come in 1st when it's clear you didn't?

I always had great times in Forza one...mostly because I was a thrifty enterprising booger, and always managed to have tons of cash to modify teh cars I had. I think the slowest car I had in the first Forza was a full race SRT-4.

My Forza 1 garage was full of everything... I don't even remember what I had anymore...
And out of all the cars I drove one, the R32 GTR... :banghead:

i can still play forza 1, on the 360. idk, i got bored with it and had a competition with my cousin, about who could make the fastest drag car. so he just modded the enzo with everything, and i cant seems to get anything close to it. too bad that forza 2 wont have the cash cheat, for quick cash to mess around with. swap engine, then go to stock, then sell the non-stock engine. quick cash i say.

but, we'll see what happens soon.

The game is great. I'm currently working on my GTi Mk2, it will be a beast when I'm done with it, Chiquae knows I already rip the times on the tracks and it's only in top of D Class... :grinyes:

Next car I'm going to work on next will be a Golf R32, and then a '69 Fairlady Z... Should be fun...

my only gripe, I chose the European market as my home(i wanted a 911 turbo as quick as possible). and i took a trip over to c wat chevy and dodge had available, and it said i can't buy the 96 chevy corvette gs because it's only available in the NA market, or buying over the net, i dont pay for xbox live, i dont feel that they should've done that.

its like 100k credits to change your home region. do that.

Awesome game, came with my 360. If anyone in AF is interested, we should have an online tournament in Forza 2 or NFS:ProStreet. You can either play through XBL hands on, or post your time and the car used.
