On my 98 Chev Astro Van, my passenger side power window motor finally died. How do I replace it? What is the procedure-step by step is preferred.
Thanks.
Bob

Remove the trim panel. The original motor is riveted in place. Drill the (3?) rivet heads with a 1/4" drill. Have an assistant hold the window from falling down in the tracks. Unplug the motor and install the new motor. Use 1/4" x 20 x 3/4" stainless steel bolts and stainless steel nylon insert nuts. Reinstall the trim panel. Total time: 45 minutes

Ive found that the nut and bolt kit that comes with the motor to be very teadious during installation so I replaced the nuts and bolts with self tapping screws and thred lock. Havent had any problems with it sence and its been over 4 years. ~Chris

i'm really lazy, i just riveted the new one on too. watch for a rivet set on sale, they come in real handy. i use mine several times a year and they never come loose from vibration.
I did it like this:

great tip and another great use for duct tape. you can get the glue residue off the paint and glass with Goof Off a paint and adhesive remover or my favorite, Zippo lighter fluid. but remmeber, the longer you wait the harder it will be to clean up.
