KoDKingVegeta's 1990 Eclipse Project

So I had a 1990 Eclipse a LONG time ago, then had to sell it to get a family car. Well I found it again, and after MONTHS of trying to get it back, I finaly did. When I got it back it was dieing, because the person I sold it to, drove it for a few weeks, let it sit for almost a yr, (with gas and stuff in it) then sold it.

And the person that bought it drove it to the ground, even after they found out the head gasket was leaking anitfreeze (spelling). So I didnt even bother to fix the old 1.8 I decided to go big and pull the motor and swap everything to a 2.0 turbo. Here is my MySpace page with the updated pictures, next week I will be installing the new wiring harness.

Because Im a member, and my car is a project, and this is the project section. So why cant I put it in here?

The reasoning that no other project threads have been put in here is because we've had lots of people come on here with projects and never finish them. Who wants to read a half finished project thread when they are expecting a completed one. Once you have a completed write up thread that is a project, then I might put em here. Until then, I'm not letting anybody put their project threads in here until completely finished. Ok?

I will put it with the rest of our project threads in the Performance section and I will sticky it. Of course if the project goes a long ass time without any updates it will be de-stickied.

(I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to the threads that were being posted in here. I need to do some cleaning up tonight after work.)

O, ok, well this week we are pulling the motor out of the other car, and this weekend we will be installing the wiring harness into my car, and later the week we will be installing the motor, so I will have lots more pictures before I make another update.

I got the motor installed today, surprising part about it is, I only changed ONE motor mount, and I didnt even have to do that, because the old 1.8 mounts lined up perfect with the 2.0 motor, everything sits just like the old motor.

That motor that you swapped in looks to be a 4G63 n/t... are you going to turbo it? what mods do you have planned for that?

Yes that is right, it is n/a, but Im getting a turbo kit, then down the road a 2.3 stroker kit.

Ok its been awhile since I posted news on the car. So here it is, the past week me and my buddy took out the old harness from the car, and went to our local junk man, and got a harness out of a 91 5speed 2.0 car. So tomorrow more then likly we will be installing the new harness, hooking everything back up to the motor, and HOPEFULLY starting the motor for the first time, if not tomorrow, then this weekend we will diff get it started.

*UPDATE* 7/28/2007*

As of last monday (7/23/2007) me and my friend started to take apart his talon for his motor swap. So he gave me all the parts I need to finish my project. So heres an update of everything that has been since I last posted.

Motor harness is in and laying in the bay waiting to get zip tied to the frame. Interior is all apart waiting for the cabin harness to be installed. Got new fuel injectors for my motor, got new spark plugs, new belts, new motor mounts.

All next week, me and my friend will be going over and working on my eclipse, so hopefully we will get it up and running, but last time I said that things came up and it didnt happen.
