i just bought a 90 talon tsi awd, i was told from the guy i got it off of that it was the fuel pump and or filter, i replaced the pump cause i was not getting fuel past the fliter, now that i replaced it i have presure, but i take out the plugs after trying to start it 4 or 5 times and their not wet, and i also tested to see if i was getting spark and no spark? im thinking crank sensor? any other ideas?:banghead:

The first thing I would do is pull the ECU and make sure the caps aren't leaking all over the board. It's pretty common for them to take out the injector drivers.

but that would not caues it not to spark. or would it?
Edit: what should the restance be in the plug wires..i tested them and i got from 3.1 to 5.3 ohms
edit #2: ok i did some tests and im deff. not getting spark and the injectors are not getting gas into the chambers. i am getting gas to and past the fuel rail. i took off the return line one the rail and turned to key and a shot of gas came out, so i know i have presure and gas is getting through the fuel rail. so im still thinking its the crank sensor, and i could not get my dash apart to check the ecu. im going to try it again later , does any one know where i can price a crank/cam sensor? i checked at the local patrs store and they want $235.00..!

Someone will have to back me up on this, because I'm not sure about the 1g's. The ECU won't run the fuel pump in a 2g, unless it gets feedback from the CAS. So if you are getting fuel consistently, that isn't your problem.
I would still work on checking the ECU. That is the most common culprit of fuel and spark issues when it comes to a 1g.

My old spyder GS had similar problems. It died on me one day and wasnt getting a spark but I was getting fuel to my injectors. It was my crank sensor. Once that was replaced only two of my cylinders were firing. Replacing the Power Transfer Unit fixed that problem.
