charging problem 1987 cherokee

I have a 87 cherokee that is not charging properly. The alt guage reeds about 10 belt is on no weird sounds from alt . Charged batt seems to start ok also oil pressure guage reads past 80lbs. could this be other problem than alternator?

When you are reading 10 volts, the battery is low and the alternator is not charging.
After charging the battery, it should read 12.6 volts.
Ignore the OP gage for now, it should read 40 or so and drop at idle.
Always, check the integrity of the positive and ground side cables. That means tight and no corrosion or rust on the connections.Automotive electrical is not hard to understand. You will need some tools, such as a voltmeter to test the stuff.
