heres sum B.S.

some ass clown towed my car from the front while it was in park without the damn key....now heres where it gets fun...when i went to pik the damn car up when it started it sounded really bad...like a thrown rod or sum shit, went to put the damn thing in gear, and it didnt move an inch, just reved up. so u know i got into it with the tow company...so now this chick is trying to tell me they tow cars like that all the time, with no poblem, and how they know they broke it when they towed it and it wasnt like that b4...smh.as u all know, just about everything in my car is pretty much new as hell and i have all the documents showing that. so now it looks as if i gotta sue these fuckers...with f body 7 days away smh..... heres my question...they claim a tranny mechanic told them it was ok to tow a rear wheel drive car like that and it shouldnt hurt anything...im hearing that they are full of shit and u cant tow a rear wheel drive car from the front while in park...what do u guys say?

If you put the car in park on a hill will it move? No. So, therefor, you can't tow it in park either. They probably also flat soptted your tires and ruined them.

when you put an auto into park does it engage all the clutch packs to lock the transmission? what goes on inside the gearbox when you put it in park?

All i know is that in the manual it say's you can't tow your car like that. When ever i needed my maro towed it had to be a flat bed, cause it will fuck your tranny up big time. Yeah your going to have to sue them for some money.

you don't tow autos with the driven wheel on the ground. ever.

if you need to two a 2wd auto, you lift the driven wheels and tow it like that. i don't think putting in neutral is safe either.

You can tow in neutral..a very short distance but it is NOt recommended as it can damage the pump. And yes, ALL tow companies know you can't tow an auto vehicle from the front wheels without disconnecting the driveshaft. They were lazy and just didn't give a $hit about your car. I would go after them for a new transmission, lost time, rental car and whatever else I could get out of them.

They are lucky they didnt break my car trust in that shit...If they didnt go to jail for damaging it, i would be in jail because i would crack some heads. Wouldnt be my first assault charge...

when i was in Florida i noticed no-one used their handbrake, they just left the car/truck in park.

hell yeah man...the only place here that have hills (lmao) is san antonio florida....15 minutes north of tampa...other than that, this shit is flat as a girl named becky's ass....lol..sorry but mix alot said it best on that one :grinyes:

hahaha. i threw my car into P before while rolling.. not that i DIDNT know about the latch, just forgot i was moving.. (first time doing donuts and shit) got a little excited... haha

btw, i saw this one car, i think it was auto it was a honda civic.. it was parked and i think the latch snapped.. it rolled back into a friggin jetta, smashed the shit out of the fender.. it bounced off, and backed into it again (it was a tbone) the guy in the jetta runs out all fuckin pissed swearing up a storm.. looks into the civic to yell at the guy..cept there was nobody there! :D

hilarious. funny thing was, the jetta parked where he wasnt supposed to, at the end of the parking.. and i was about to park there.

the guys who towed your ride must have not known what he was doing. it can be towed, all you do is disconnect the linkage in the tranny, it takes time though, but it can be done. as far as sueing them, good luck, hope you win.
